A few photos are private you'll be able to see them only if you are in my contacts. Accordingly, if you'd rather see a photo privacy changed or removed, don't hesitate to tell me, as always!
Last post reminded me that my bike is a bit more than one year old. I got it the first week-end after I landed (thanks randy for touring bike shops with me)...
- 2 tires used
- ~ 10 flats (It's better with the new tires!)
- ~ 10km/day (6.3 miles/day) = 3650 km (2300 miles) total (based on my 10km commute trip)
- My Garmin Forerunner indicated a total of 220km after my run this morning. So I probably ran 350km since I started (1/10 of what I do by bike).
... And I don't regret a mile!
I have a repair stand a few tools and a "broken" bike. No I need to learn how to make a bit more advanced maintenance (Other than changing tire, and cleaning). Well I manually fixed two teeth in my front sprocket which made my chain jump every two crank rotations, but I guess It won't hold very long and I probably need to change chain + sprocket...
I've been told about bikekitchen which sounds interesting.
- More and more scared by car drivers while riding my bike in San Francisco
- Wonderful week-end in Napa (pool, bbq, sun, wine, ...)
- Bootie-Night is a lot of fun (dna-lounge)
- power outages in San Francisco are more frequent than rain during summer.
- It's not clear whether power outages are more frequent than earthquakes and if there is a relation between the two
- Lots of friendly people in San Francisco, always fun to hang out
- Loic wanted a way to post his tweets on his blog (daily), so I created loudtwitter and had fun doing so (now he has some kind of content on his english blog ;)
Ok, I've spoken too fast, I had to stop my 10k this morning at kilometer 6.7
This is the left knee this time, which means the pain has nothing to do with my bike accident. (I guess it's good news? - or maybe not).
I'm depressed now. I don't want to do anything today.
I'm back at running, more motivated than ever. Today I decided to go up and down hill after a short flat part.
It was my first time running on Potrero Hill and It was fun (I was more comfortable that on my bike).
The last time I ran uphill was on Nob Hill - North Beach - downtown. It was painful for my right knee and I stopped running for 1 month and half. This time everything looks good. Lot of stretching before and after the run, and so far no pain.
I was too busy to post about it earlier... but this is bike to work day today.
Ok it's probably a bit late to ride your bike today, but you can do it tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow etc... though you'll miss the coalition support (including Energizer Stations) where you can have coffee, nice pastries and cookies if you ride your bike. And it's not too late to stop at these stations tonight!
There is also a party tonight.
And If you don't join the fun, remember to be nice with bikers :)
Assassins ! Assassins!
I've made my mind on this one, I think a minor part of the car driver population want to eradicate bikers. I'm so sad about it because I think in their own way they succeed in discouraging people to ride bikes in cities. And sometimes I guess accidents happen. This is probably the same kind of driver who run away.
I've just been passed by a big car, who made every possible effort to stay in the right lane (on 3rd street before brannan), i.e the lane I was using in spite of the 3 other lanes where totally empty. He almost hit me. This is the reason of the rant -- sorry.
